Trauma Informed Day Treatment (TIDTx) is a program of Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health (C&A) that integrates mental health and educational interventions. This therapeutic environment provides a continuum of services designed to assess, treat and reduce severe emotional and/or behavioral disturbances in youth who have experienced trauma.
TIDTx program is appropriate for youth who have been assessed across many areas of their lives (home, school, community, social and personal) and have been determined to have a severe emotional and/or behavioral disturbance which requires intensive, therapeutic intervention. Youth receive individual, family, group and milieu therapy based on needs identified in the comprehensive trauma assessment.
Our treatment environment offers youth the opportunity to learn and rehearse behavioral change while receiving guidance, supportive feedback and reinforcement in a physically and emotionally safe setting. This promotes the development of effective self regulation , problem-solving, coping and social skills.
Based on mental health needs and family interest, psychiatric services and case management are additional services that may be accessed at C&A.
The program is staffed by mental health and educational personnel:
All have Trauma & Resiliency training
Parent/Guardian pays the mental health costs based on a sliding fee scale, Medicaid or insurance coverage. The referring school district pays for educational and transportation costs.
The typical treatment stay is generally 12-24 months, depending on progress made towards treatment goals. Youth attend Monday through Friday from 8-2:30 during the school year and Summer Programming.
Youth are expected to attend daily. Consistent family involvement is necessary for youth to achieve their maximum growth potential. This is accomplished through regularly attended family counseling sessions.
