A Canton native, Monica Rose Gwin graduated from the former John H. Lehman High School. From Lehman, Gwin earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Bradley University in Peoria, IL.
Gwin explained how she became associated with C&A.
“I was approached to serve on the board and have genuinely enjoyed my service these past five years. It is very fulfilling to be a part of an organization that provides much needed mental health services to children and families in our community,” wrote Gwin, who is the public relations specialist for OhioMeansJobs Stark and Tuscarawas Counties.
Gwin serves on the Mission Advancement and Let Your Light Shine committees for the fundraiser Let Your Light Shine fundraiser in 2020 and 2021.
“The theme for this year’s fundraiser is “Cirque Du Lumiere, Deux Partie” at the Cultural Center for the Arts,” wrote Gwin, who is married to the Honorable Scott Gwin. They have two children and a grandson.
In addition to serving on the C&A Board, she is currently serving her 16th year on the Plain Local Board of Education, the Stark State College Foundation Board and is a former member of the YWCA, Canton Ballet and Arthritis Foundation boards. She is past president of the Junior League of Stark County Ohio, Inc., Stark County Legal Auxiliary and Canton Junior Women’s Club.
